Drivers Education

This 30-hour theory course will cover classroom instruction on the Pennsylvania Driver’s manual and all phases of defensive driving.  We’ll cover preparing yourself to drive, risk taking and driving, sharing the road with trucks, bicyclists, and other motorists, adverse weather conditions, effects of drug and alcohol abuse, and rules of the road.  Completion of this course with approved on-the-road driving instruction (arranged individually with instructor or another driving school) may make beginner teen drivers eligible for reduced insurance rates.  As the state requires that this class be a full 30 hours, absences are not permitted- a list of our classes throughout Bucks County will be provided for needed make-up sessions.

Babysitting Workshop

New Course for Teens

The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training has been newly revised to help students become the best and safest babysitters on the block.  Training will include how to pick up and carry an infant; bottle, spoon feeding and burping an infant; how to check an unconscious infant or child and to recognize breathing emergencies; ways to prevent germs from spreading among children and proper hand-washing techniques; whom and when to call in different emergency situations; first Aid techniques for infants and children; and Leadership Skills. Students will receive a Babysitters Training Handbook with information and resources to use in class and on the job; a Babysitter’s Training Emergency Reference Guide with step-by-step instructions to handle common emergencies such as asthma attacks, burns and cuts; and a Babysitters Training CD-ROM with tools for running a babysitting business such as a babysitting organizer; printable activity booklet with games, crafts, songs and recipes; a resume template; and interactive exercises to help students practice skills.  Day long session; please wear comfortable clothing and pack a snack and lunch.
